Stone Soup

1st and 2nd Primary

Stone Soup is a pot full of colourful characters, classical music, rhyme, song and audience participation. The play follows Little Red Hen’s attempt to make a filling meal for the Big Bad Wolf before he makes a meal out of her.

With the help of The Three Little Pigs, Hen makes her soup with carrots, onions and potatoes while The Big Bad Wolf lends a hand with household chores.

Students take part! Learn the Stone Soup song in class and then join in at the show. Students also visit Little Red Hen’s neighbours and play the Sorting out the washing game.

The Student workbook includes a weather report, household chore vocabulary, days of the week and how to grow your own vegetables.

My children loved the end. The Big Bad Wolf had ate the delicious soup and was too full up to eat Little Red Hen.
