The Day Trip

4th, 5th and 6th Primary

Come to London on a Day Trip!

George and Alice are eighty and are looking back over the trips they made when they were young. We are then suddenly transported back and witness their day trip to London. At the Tower of London they meet a Beefeater and go on a tour. Surprised by the ghost of Anne Boleyn and a mystery surrounding the Crown Jewels. We finish in a restaurant where Alice tries to solves a crime. Have the Crown Jewels been stolen? Are George and Alice witness to the greatest robbery in history? This play welcomes your students to the UK and one of the worlds iconic landmarks.

Students take part: Learn the song in class and then sing along to the City Song. Students suggest London landmarks, identify the countries and nationalities within the UK and propose transport ideas.

Student workbook: Exercises on landmarks, nationalities, the UK and transport. As well as speaking practise on greetings and eating in a restaurant.
